Visit California | Learn about Filoli’s Lamchin Interpretive Center in Woodside, California #Shorts @visitcalifornia | Uploaded September 2024 | Updated October 2024, 3 hours ago.
Meet Gregg Castro, the culture director of the Association of Ramaytush Ohlone, and one of two consultants at Filoli’s Lamchin Interpretive Center. Filoli is located in Woodside, CA, on the unceded lands of the Lamchin, an independent tribe of the Ramaytush Ohlone peoples. The new Lamchin Interpretive Center, and the neighboring Spring Creek Trail, help teach the story of the land and its first inhabitants and stewards – the Lamchin – that is missing from textbooks. They invite visitors to see the exhibit and walk the trail to experience the land through the eyes of the Lamchin and understand what they have known for generations.
The Visit Native California content series aims to shine a spotlight on the many different ways visitors can learn about, and learn from, the state’s 100+ tribes. From museums to guided tours to attractions at state and national parks, there are countless ways to experience Native American culture in the Golden State.
This video is presented by Visit California and was filmed on the ancestral lands of the Lamchin.
