Breaking down another polyrhythm to make it WAY easier. Here’s the idea:
1. Start with your main subdivision and lock into a groove - here it’s 7s. Clap every beat and repeat the subdivisions 👏
2. Switch to 3s, while keeping the pacing the same. Keep emphasizing the notes that line up with the clap. Map it out on paper if needed ✍️
3. Slowly shift the emphasis off the claps and onto the 1s of what you’re singing. Take it slow 🧠
4. Now reduce the volume of the other counts until only the 1s remain. Turn them into “Ta”s for better rhythm 🎶
At that point, you’ll feel 7 "Ta"s cycling against 3 claps - and landing together again. That’s 7:3. You made it 🙌
