This clip was reposted from one originally shared on March 12, 2011, [when] a singer in Smule's Glee Karaoke app, Mayo57 from Kochi, Japan, sang "Lean on Me" and invited others to join her song in a message of solidarity, sympathy, and hope. Over the next few weeks, thousands of people from six continents joined the song, many sending comments of support and prayers for the people of Japan. One year later, nearly 4,000 singers have added their voices to the song. Altogether, the chorus of voices has been singing for over 180 hours.
