Remember when the first week of June was an absolute holy week for video game news? Back in the day, E3 was the undisputed end-all-be-all for gamers worldwide. The entire industry would grind to a halt while we glued ourselves to screens to watch massive press conferences. E3 might officially be dead and gone, but major video game companies still use this exact window in early June to pull back the curtain on some of their most massive upcoming projects. And right on cue, it looks like Sony's upcoming 2026 State of Play showcase has suffered a catastrophic internal leak!

The post allegedly features a photograph of a highly classified internal Sony corporate document detailing the exact segment-by-segment lineup for the broadcast. Well, luckily for us, I don't work for Sony PlayStation, so we are completely in the clear to break this down piece by piece and see if it holds any real weight or if it's just another beautifully crafted piece of internet fiction!
Looking closely at this leaked broadcast rundown, the sheer scale of the announcements is staggering. According to the document, Segment One kicks off with a massive, 10-minute deep dive of pure gameplay from Insomniac's highly anticipated Marvel's Wolverine on PlayStation 5. But that is only the tip of the iceberg. The leak goes on to list a massive reveal for Capcom's Devil May Cry 6: No More Tears. Then, the holy grail that would cause the entire internet to completely melt down: an official presentation slot for Rockstar Games' Grand Theft Auto VI (GTA 6). If that actually happens, maybe people can finally celebrate and shut up about it!
The list doesn't slow down there. It also claims we are getting Bloodborne: The New Blood, a hilariously named Final Fantasy VII Remake Reborn Intergalactic, a new look at Naughty Dog's heavily rumored sci-fi project Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet, a full God of War Trilogy Remake of the original hack-and-slash titles, an enigmatic project listed as Control Resident (a crossover or typos from a fan's dream list?), a full next-gen Infamous Remake, the long-awaited return of Kingdom Hearts 4, and a brand-new title titled God of War Saga: The Wrath of Faye.
On one hand, many of these titles look incredibly promising. Personally, I would be ecstatic to get a real look at Marvel's Wolverine. Insomniac did an absolutely phenomenal job with the Marvel's Spider-Man franchise, and I cannot wait to see their brutal, mature take on Logan. A God of War Saga following Kratos' late wife Faye would also be a fantastic narrative move for Santa Monica Studio, given how incredible that hack-and-slash franchise has been. And an Infamous Remake? Count me in; that universe deserves a modern PS5 revival.
On the other hand, the skeptical side of my brain is screaming that this document is absolute BS. Final Fantasy 7 Remake Reborn Intergalactic? A random God of War Trilogy Remake shadow-dropping alongside a brand new God of War Saga title? It reads exactly like a hardcore gamer’s ultimate wish list rather than a logistically realistic corporate broadcast schedule. The inclusion of the overly dramatic "terminal offense" warning feels like an intentional addition just to make a fake print-out look authentic to the casual scroller. Part of me thinks it is completely fake, but there is always that small part of a retro and modern gaming fan that desperately wants to believe.
