Just two years after its debut at CIGRE Paris, the world’s first SF₆‑free 550 kV GIS is now live and powering State Grid Corporation of China's Wuhan Yuxian substation.

This first commercial deployment of SF₆-free GIS at 550 kV proves that EconiQ® technology is ready to scale for extra-high-voltage power systems. By reducing lifecycle CO₂-equivalent emissions by up to 99%, it marks a major step forward in decarbonizing the grid for decades to come.
