Le Muretain Agglo puts its trust in the Renault Trucks E-Tech D Wide
To reduce its carbon footprint and advance its commitment to sustainable mobility, the French local authority Le Muretain Agglo has chosen the Renault Trucks E-Tech D Wide – a 100% electric refuse collection truck – to serve its 26 municipalities in southwestern France.
🚛 This fully electric garbage truck operates up to 20 collection rounds a day, proving that electric mobility is both viable and effective for demanding municipal services such as waste management.
🔋 Designed and manufactured in France at Renault Trucks’ Blainville-sur-Orne plant, this electric refuse truck offers zero tailpipe emissions, low noise levels, and significantly reduced brake wear and particle emissions – making it a perfect solution for urban and residential environments.
⚙️ With over 300 to 800 stops and starts per round, traditional diesel trucks consume large amounts of fuel and generate considerable noise and pollution. The Renault Trucks E-Tech D Wide tackles this challenge head-on, thanks to regenerative braking and a powertrain tailored to refuse collection operations.
🌍 This project was delivered in collaboration with Midi Pyrénées Véhicules Industriels Sud (Alvarez Group), the certified Renault Trucks dealer providing local support, commissioning, and maintenance.
🎙️ “With this 100% electric refuse truck, we’re taking a major step toward decarbonised energy,” says André Mandement, President of Le Muretain Agglo.
💡 This rollout also illustrates that clean, electric refuse trucks aren’t just for big cities. Mid-sized communities can also adopt zero-emission mobility solutions—and Le Muretain Agglo is paving the way for others to follow.
