The SC-55 is the first MIDI sound module in the Sound Canvas line. It's best known in the west as the module used to compose the MIDI music for pretty much all DOS games in the early 90's. This is an essential accessory to anyone who wishes to hear the music from DOS, X68000 and PC-98 games the way they were intended to be heard. Future Sound Canvases such as the SC-88 are incapable to play SC-55 MIDIs 100% accurately, due to changes in the synth engine and samples being replaced (most infamously the strings).
