The Medici are the most famous family to come out of Florence. Little is known about the other families that contributed to the artistic and cultural life of the city through donations and patronage.
This conference brings the lesser-known 17th century Florentine patron families to light.

The conference is Associated with the exhibition on Michelangelo the younger, the Birth of Opera at Casa Buonarroti and a production of the recently discovered first rendition of Dafne, the first such production ever attempted. Hosting many new discoveries, the event is organised in collaboration with the SAGAS Department of the University of Florence as well as Master of Arts in Museum Studies students at the Lorenzo de’Medici institute.
