Le labo de Michel | LDM #233: CD605 BFGoodrich - Single beam colour Control Display Unit - Part 1 @lelabodemichel5162 | Uploaded 2 years ago | Updated 1 hour ago
This video shows the teardown, reverse engineering and first power-up of a BF Goodrich CD605 Control display Unit used in the TCAS791.
This indicator has a 3 colours CRT with a single beam. I suppose that the functioning is closed to the Chromatron system. Please leave a comment if you know more about this CRT. The colour is selected using 4 wires which are connected to the front of the CRT. The 4 signals are generated using a PROM with 8 addresses which are connected to a 8-bits counter. The clock of the counter is generated by a PLL which multiplies par 256 the frequency of a clock signal which must be fed to this instrument.
