After the success of his last EP Dreamscapes with popular tracks Kyoto Rain and Nagoya Moon, The Laszlo Project a.k.a. Aaron Wheeler brings us his new offering of his jazz, electronica-infused rich and melodic colourful sound.
'Night Owl' - the lead track for this EP - is an atmospheric and etherial journey based around the metallic rhythms of the tongue drum, with emotive piano chords and melody, soaring flugel horn from Simon Joyner over the top of the intricate syncopated rhythms of Sophie Alloway on the drums.
The sound is somewhat inspired by the ethereal sound of European jazz artists on the ECM label such as The Jan Gabereck Group, Rainer Bruninghaus as well as modern jazz electronica artist like Mammal Hands, Gogo Penguin and Portico Quartet.
The EP brings together the much-loved and lauded talents of Sophie Alloway, Phoebe Wright-Spinks, Lucie Treacher, Simon Joyner and many more - all of whom are artists and creators in their own right - to create a 7-track journey through genre and mood.
'Arising' is released as part of KPM Shorts, an Extreme Music brand.
