This module introduces students to number of areas of social welfare law from a practice-oriented focus. We will cover housing law, welfare benefits law, community care law and education law. We will consider how these cases are funded through legal aid and some of the realities of legal aid practice. We will also consider how to litigate issues of policy and practice in these areas of law, so as to achieve a wider social impact.
