Rant:
I just can't believe how upset I am over Laurel's death. Even though it was already predicted to happen by many fans, I am still heart broken. Laurel has been my favorite character since episode 1 when she didn't fall right back into Oliver's arms when he first showed up again after years of being presumed dead. What he did to Laurel (cheating on her with her sister and leading her sister into trouble) was something so unforgivable. I think a lot of people if in her same situation wouldn't have forgiven Ollie all those times. But she did it anyways because Oliver meant so much to her and because Laurel was such a good person. And that's something I will always truly believe, even if other arrow fans think differently. Laurel Lance was always trying to save the world; The arrow characters knew that about her and I'm sure some of the arrow writers did too. The only people who didn't understand that were the people angry at her for not always being the smiley female character or the character that got in the way of their ship. Either way I will never stop being disgusted with the part of the fandom that let this happen and the writers that went along with it even when Laurel was an actual comic book character (unlike Felicity, Ray, and Sara). And although I love Ray and appreciate having more female characters like them on the show, it was never suppose to be about them. Killing off Laurel isn't just killing off Clark's Louis Lane, it would be like killing off Wonder Woman. Black Canary is a superhero and a great one at that. The writers could have spent so much more time developing her Canary Cry and other fighting skills to become like the Black Canary in the comics. Instead they choose this route. To kill off another female character that doesn't deserve to be hated. When honestly they could have done what they did with Roy and found a way to get her character off the show without harming her.
Anyways, I dedicate this to my favorite character Laurel Lance for all her courage and strength as well as to my otp Lauriver.
