On June 23, 2026, approximately 175 participants joined us in person and virtually for the official launch of Age-Friendly Ocean County's Inaugural Multisector Plan for Aging (2026–2030)—the first county-level Multisector Plan for Aging released in the State of New Jersey.
Led by the Ocean County Office of Senior Services, in partnership with Rutgers Cooperative Extension of Ocean County, the initiative brought together municipalities, community organizations, healthcare providers, businesses, educational institutions, nonprofit organizations, older adults, caregivers, advocates, and residents from across Ocean County to develop a shared vision for healthy aging.
The Multisector Plan provides a roadmap for advancing healthy aging, independence, accessibility, and quality of life for older adults, individuals with disabilities, caregivers, veterans, and families throughout Ocean County. Informed by extensive community engagement, the Plan reflects the voices and priorities of thousands of residents and stakeholders and establishes a framework for cross-sector collaboration over the next five years.
The Launch featured remarks from county, state, university, and national leaders committed to advancing age-friendly communities. Highlights included the public release of the Multisector Plan and the unveiling of Bridge Social, an innovative AI-assisted texting pilot designed to connect older adults, individuals with disabilities, caregivers, and professionals with local information and referral resources.
Age-Friendly Ocean County is part of a growing movement to create communities where people of all ages can thrive. Together, we are building a more connected, inclusive, and age-friendly future for everyone.
