ABOUT SYMPHONY
Lasvit​, as Willam Blake once did, attempts “To see a World in a Grain of Sand,” trying to cherish and nurture even the tiniest of design ideas and nuances of glass-making craft, allowing them to grow into overwhelmingly impressive works of mind and skill. The Symphony lighting sculpture, composed of nearly 28 000 individually crafted glass pearls, builds on this endeavor. The 4 tons of hand-blown crystal are held in place by 11 500 meters of stainless cable, while 7 700 meters of wiring connects the 2 880 LED light sources used to dynamically light up this massive sculpture with overall height of imposing 27 meters. The hundreds of hours of the glass-making and production work, all the individual “grains of sand” involved in the process, do indeed make for a remarkable landscape.
