Last week was a whirlwind. We drove over 1600 miles, visited almost a dozen attractions, and consumed too many snacks and sodas.

And the whole trip reiterated that I love traveling with my teens.

They sing along to the songs on the radio.

They can hold it until the next rest area.

They buy their own snacks at truck stops.

They even compromise and go see just one more history thing in exchange for a visit to an escape room instead of having a meltdown.

It was an awesome trip.

But as the memories on my phone show me, I also enjoyed traveling with younger kids as well -- just for different reasons. There is something about every stage of homeschooling to appreciate.

That's a great exercise at the start of the school year. Sit down and list five or six things that you appreciate about the stage of homeschooling you are in right now.

While we were gone, a new season of the Your Morning Basket podcast dropped, so I'm here today to invite you to listen to the first episode.

On the show, I interview Rachel Monreal -- a mom at the opposite end of her homeschool journey than me. Rachel has all littles (her oldest is eight), and on the podcast, we discuss how she uses Morning Time to build a rich curriculum for her kids and include the little ones in all they do.

It's a fun episode and a peek into how one mom thrives at this homeschool thing.
