Treebeard is carrying Merry and Pippin through Fangorn Forest
Treebeard: I will leave you at the western borders of the forest. You can make your way north to your homeland from there.
Pippin: Wait! Stop! Stop! Turn around. Turn around. Take us south.
Treebeard: South? But that would lead you past Isengard.
Pippin: Yes. Exactly. If we go south, we can slip past Saruman unnoticed. The closer we are to danger, the farther we are from harm. It’s the last thing he’ll expect.
Treebeard: That doesn’t make sense to me. But then, you are very small. Perhaps you’re right. (breathes) South it is, then. Hold on, little Shirelings. I always like going south. Somehow it feels like going downhill.
Merry: Are you mad? We’ll be caught.
Pippin: No we won’t. Not this time.
(Faramir and his men are on the outskirts of Osgiliath.)
Soldier: Look! Osgiliath burns!
Faramir: Mordor has come.
Frodo: The Ring will not save Gondor. (turns and faces Faramir) It has only the power to destroy. Please, let me go.
Faramir: Hurry!
(Frodo and Sam are being pushed to go onward.)
Frodo: Faramir! You must let me go!
(Treebeard is walking towards Isengard still.)
Treebeard: And those little family of field mice that climb up sometimes and they tickle me awfully. They’re always trying to somewhere where they…(He gasps)
(Treebeard and the Hobbits look around, seeing the remains of dead trees.)
Treebeard: Many of these trees were my friends. Creatures I had known from nut and acorn.
Pippin: I’m sorry, Treebeard.
Treebeard: They had voices of their own. (looks at Isengard) Saruman. A wizard should know better!
(Treebeard breathes in deeply and then lets out a loud yell, causing the Hobbits to cover their ears. His yell echoes across the Forest of Fangorn.)
Treebeard: There is no curse in Elvish, Entish or the tongues of Men for this treachery.
Pippin: (looking behind himself) Look! The trees! They’re moving!
Merry: Where are they going?
Treebeard: They have business with the Orcs. My business is with Isengard tonight with a rock and stone.
(Both Hobbits turn around and see Ents going towards Isengard.)
Merry: Yes.
Treebeard: Come, my friends. The Ents are going to war. It is likely that we go to our doom. Last march of the Ents.
(All of the Ents are marching towards Isengard now. Gollum is being pushed onwards by a soldier’s sword in his back. Frodo and Sam are being held by the shoulders by two of Faramir’s men. A boulder lands in the water near where Frodo and Sam are, while some of the soldiers shot arrows.)
