Laser rust removal on steel is only one of the many applications of laser ablation. a High-power laser (100 W) is used to deliver high energy pulses to clean the rust off of a steel tube. The same can be done on most metals. Contact us bit.ly/2EecvCf
LXQ 3D Vision is a laser system that can adjust to the geometry and position of the parts to be marked. Its combined laser marking and 3D scanning systems make it an integral part of a complete traceability system.
Its adaptive 3D marking capabilities make it a perfect fit for marking: rough or irregular parts, as well as rounded or slanted surfaces. Parts can also be randomly positioned with respect to the laser beam.
The laser beam sweeps the surface of the cylinder, removing a thin layer of the contaminant, leaving the cylinder clean with an unaffected substrate.

The video is filmed at the actual speed of the laser cleaning. First, our laser vision system scans the surface of the rusted steel pipe. Then, the laser controller compensates for the position and the shape of the steel pipe. Finally, the laser removes the rust through a process called laser ablation. In the end, the steel pipe is clean as a whistle and the substrate (steel) is completely unaffected by the operation.
