LASD Unveils New Inmate Transport Bus to Address Safety and Operational Challenges @LACountySheriff

Sheriff Luna will showcase the new inmate transport bus, a 2024 Motor Coach Industries (MCI) D4020 ISTV, added to the fleet, a move aimed at addressing significant safety concerns and operational issues. This is one of many buses approved by the County of Los Angeles Board of Supervisors. The Department's Court Services Transportation Bureau (CST), which transports people in custody to and from more than 90 different state and county facilities, has been grappling with a critical shortage of buses, compounded by frequent breakdowns of aging vehicles.
