Ben Brockert | Large sea urchin and ornate wrasses @bbrockert | Uploaded October 2020 | Updated October 2024, 1 hour ago.
Another non-rocket video, I know. But I thought it was funny how setting the gopro down immediately caught the interest of the wrasses. They seem like one of the more intelligent fish, less afraid of humans and happy to investigate any disturbances a person makes to see if there are any things to eat. The sea urchin is the largest one I've ever seen, perhaps nine inches (20cm) across. I saw a couple smaller ones a different day and was looking for them, but found this huge one instead.
According to forums Cyprus used to have a lot of sea urchins but that is not the case now. I've been surprised how little life there is in tidal pools as well. Anemones are also very difficult to find.
