Still finding my feet in the large format 5x4 world. You can read all you want about camera movements and what they supposedly do, but there’s no substitute for getting out there and trying it out for yourself. So I wanted to start with the stereotypical use of camera movements – using tilts to straighten out verticals on buildings.

Took a bit of trial and error, but I think the results are good. The camera movements did what they were supposed to do! But jesus… I’m really not a fan of shooting buildings. Always good to remind myself of that. Back to people for the next one! We all have stuff we like shooting, and for me it’s people. I totally get why people love shooting architecture and landscapes, but it ain’t for me!

For those of you who may be disappointed that this wasn’t a medium format video, have no fear, the S2A is now officially functioning properly again, and focusing properly, so I’ll get that out and shoot with it very soon and will be able to post the video that started about four months ago when I decided to try to “improve” the focusing screen…
