An officer fired at suspected shooters in the Pico-Union district this morning, and the investigation led to the arrest of four suspects, police said.
No victims were found, police said. The officer-involved shooting happened just before 1 a.m. at 11th Place and Union Avenue, said Sgt. Ricardo Acosta of the Los Angeles Police Department's Rampart Station.
Officers went to the area in response to a report of a drive-by shooting, Acosta said. "One officer fired at least one shot,'' he said.
Officers established a perimeter to investigate the officer-involved shooting and search for shell casings from the reported shooting that brought them to that scene, Acosta said.
The four suspects arrested were not hit by gunfire.
