LANSING, Ill. — Severe storms caused widespread damage to one Lansing neighborhood on Monday, July 27.
More than a dozen homes along 192nd Place and 192nd Street between Oakwood and Wildwood avenues were heavily damaged by the storms. Police blocked off the intersection of Oakwood Avenue and 192nd Street to traffic and pedestrians because of a downed power line.
According to the National Weather Service, Lansing experienced “structural collapse of home and several roofs missing. Possible tornado.”
