When you think about learning a language, do you imagine getting a traditional course book and working through its exercises in a structured way, or immersive approaches that involve speaking and "language hacks" or shortcuts to learn precisely what you need?

For a long time I was all about the second choice, but when Teach Yourself approached me to make a series of language learning courses with them, it left me with a bit of a dilemma! I discuss that in this video :)
