Parts of an exploratory bout between Holger and Peter. We were taking inspiration from Dürers Fechtbuch, but not aiming to emulate what is shown in it. Rather we wanted to see what happens if we just add a dagger to our normal play. The results were interesting. Normally grappling integrates itself into fencing with the Messer rather naturally, especially if the Messer is on the shorter end of the scale. Adding a dagger to the mix makes moving into grappling distance really dangerous though, which made things interesting.
