Coming back from a $100 hamburger at Auburn California, I was descending out of 6000 ft to land back at the Livermore Airport. I called in over Los Vaqueros Reservoir and got cleared to landed on 25L. I had kept the cruse power on and just tweaked the Autopilot to descend about 500 fpm. This had my ground speed up around 220+ mph in the smooth air during the decent..
Here is my ATC communications for the landing. I've compressed the dead-air sections to move the video along. At the 00:44 mark, you can hear the ATC warn a lowly Citabria number 88408 to watch out for a "Fast Moving Experimental" off to his left". Yeah baby, that was me! Ha!
I found a web site (http://www.liveatc.net) that enlists local people with an airband scanner to capture the ATC communications for given airports and upload them in real time to the liveatc.net web site. They have archives going back about 30 days. I got the audio for this video from this web site. Seems like the KLVK scanner is kind of far from the airport because the ATC is a little scratchy, and you can't hear me at all once I'm on the ground.
Anyway, I had fun using Adobe Premiere to make this video and adding the real time titling. Just like CNN! Oh, I mean Fox!
