Most tile-laying games are multiplayer solitaire. Land vs Sea forces you to inhabit the same spatial reality as your opponent.

At its core, this is a binary system: One player maximizes Land, the other maximizes Sea. But the double-sided tiles introduce a unique split incentive:

The Owner: Wants to expand the area for points.

The Closer: Wants to seal the area to steal the bonus icons.

You aren't just placing tiles; you are constantly deciding between optimizing your own score or actively denying your opponent's future agency. It is one of the tightest 2-player loops on the market.
