Another job on our Discovery 2 TD5, we're replacing the front and rear suspension springs/shocks and also the front turrets due to them delamination/corrosion. The replacement suspension system is new TERRAFIRMA All Terrain Heavy Load 2" Suspension Lift Kit.
We drop both front and rear axles to remove the springs which makes the job easier, safer and eliminates the use of spring compressors which can be dangerous.
Also recommended to apply some rust penetrating oil to all bolts 2-3 days prior of this job and make sure they are cleaned up with a wire brush, should you have bolts that round off you can use a bolt and nut remover tool (link below).
When it comes to tightening the lower front shock bolts you can use a spanner and also a socket with extension bar however you may need to use short/deep sockets along with small/longer bars during the process but this makes it a lot easier when it comes to final tightening.
