Ray Brown (bass)
Gene Harris (piano)
Jeff Hamilton (drums)
Composed by Larry Spier,
1988/12
レイ・ブラウン(ベース)

Put Your Little Foot Right Out is a simple piece based on just
two chords (tonic and dominant), probably of traditional origin, but best
known in jazz circles through Miles Daviss recording, then under the
title Fran-Dance. Note Genes subtle behind-the-beat tactics, the
perfect time and creative force of Rays solo, and the agreeably
subdued ending.
LYRICS (as performed by Russ Morgan)
Put your little foot
Put your little foot
Put your little foot right out
Put your little foot
Put your little foot
Put your little foot right out
Put your arm around
Put your arm around
Put your arm around my waist
Keep your arm around
Keep your arm around
Keep your arm around my waist
Take a step to the side
Take a step to the rear
take a step to the side
but forever stay near
As we dance through the night
and the morning draws near
by the dawns early light
all our cares disappear
Do a little whirl
Do a little whirl
Do a little whirl about
Do a little twirl
Do a little twirl
Do a little twirl about
Walk a little bit
Talk a little bit
Put you little foot right out
Sing a little bit
swing a little bit
Put your little foot right out
[BAND}
Take a step to the side
Take a step to the rear
take a step to the side
but forever stay near
As we dance through the night
and the morning draws near
by the dawns early light
all our cares disappear
[BAND]
Walk a little bit
Talk a little bit
Put you little foot right out
Sing a little bit
swing a little bit
Put your little foot right out

The spotlight then switches to Gene Harris for a version of Summertime
that was embellished with enough breaks, blues moments and other touches
to assure that this would suggest a funky, humid summer.
LYRICS
[Chorus]
Summertime and the livin is easy
Fish are jumpin and the cotton is high
Oh, your daddys rich and your ma is good-lookin
So hush little baby, dont you cry
[Verse 1]
One of these mornings
Youre gonna rise up singing
Yes youll spread your wings
And youll take to the sky
But til that morning
There aint nothin can harm you
With Daddy and Mammy standin by
[Chorus]
Summertime, and the livin is easy
Fish are jumpin and the cotton is high
Oh, your daddys rich and your ma is good-lookin
So hush little baby, dont you cry
Oh dont you cry
Oh dont you cry
Dont you cry
Oh dont you cry
