Lahaina Fire Clean Up and Recovery. Now that the removal of hazardous materials has been completed by the EPA (which was phase 1), it is now time to move onto phase 2 which is the removal, transfer and storage of the the remaining ash and debris. This is the responsibility of the county and state who will be supported by the U.S. Army corps of engineers.
I found a very informative video from the county of maui where the Director of Environmental Manegment for the county, his name is Shayne Agawa, he explains the location where they will be moving the ash and debris, how they chose the location, how it will be transported and how it will be monitored in the future.
