I was recently commissioned to paint this spot in the south west of scotland looking out to Ailsa Craig (Creag Ealasaid) and behind it the Isle of Arran.

PART 2:
Some of the footage at the start shows Ailsa Craig at sunset when I was leaving. Sunset is never a time for plein air painting unless you have a lamp! However you can work well with ipad painting apps which are actually better to use in low light conditions.

The big 1.8 x 1m painting is then shown in the studio with commentary about chromatic grey and complementary colours.
