I take advantage of the purl Stitch to show you an easy to memorize and quick embellishment for shawls, scarves, baby sweaters or whatever your imagination desires. Every 4th row you increase one stitch, so you can let this make a design on your piece, or plan accordingly by decreasing one stitch every 4th row away from the lace edge.

Pattern:
NOTE: Cast on 10 stitches to start. You can choose any number higher than 5.

Row 1: Slip 1st stitch with in front, Puri to end
Row 2: Slip 1st stitch with in front, Purl to end
Row 3: Slip 1st stitch with in front, Puri to last 4 stitches, Yarn Over, Purl 2 together, Yarn Over, Puri one in Front and Back (2x)
Row 4: Bind Off 2 stitches puri wise, Purl to end
