L’acceuil is an artwork by French contemporary sculptor Marine de Soos.
A figurative sculpture of a man dressed in a simple loincloth, crouching in the grass. The open position of his arms, his peaceful gaze and smile suggest that he is about to take a child into his arms. A great sweetness, typical of Marine de Soos work, comes out of this sculpture along with majestic and delicate touches.
Original artwork: signed and numbered sculpture in a limited edition’s run of 8 plus 4 artist’s proofs. Bronze patina is handmade and subject to variations.
Marine de Soos has long sustained an openness to the world which permeates her career and her work. For each sculpture the artist draws her inspiration from her souvenirs, those of African and Asian landscapes. Whatever the initial image, there is always an emotion attached: “I can only work when I am in an emotional state,” says the artist. Emotion as sole guide and at the finish line, an invitation on a voyage steeped in a unique poetry which sends the observer into a state of contemplation.
