The MAP-Aria Lab (for IT application field and research in architecture) was founded in 1988 at the Architecture University of Lyon. The prinicpal topic of this presentation is the use of digital simulations in the fields of architecture, urban design, and landscape architecture. Research subjects are: generative processes as a factor of help for decision making in architecture and urban design, tools and methods for building design and fabrication processes, digital tools for promoting architectural heritage, and finally acquisition, detection, and analysis of natural and built environments.
