🔔A bell rings in the distance, light as silver, echoing like a memory.
What begins as a delicate motif unfolds into something vast and storm-bound, where soaring strings and resonant brass swirl around fleeting moments of beauty. 🔔

This is La Campanella, not as a solo piano etude, but reimagined as a cinematic orchestral journey.

In this arrangement, I sought to give the orchestra its rightful place: not merely as accompaniment, but as an equal voice in the story. At times, the piano remains at the center, leaping and shimmering with impossible agility.
At others, it steps aside as the orchestra rises, surging with power or dissolving into quiet reverence. Together, they will hopefully weave a shifting tapestry of color and contrast, delicacy and grandeur, a dialogue between two forces, each echoing the other.

The story of La Campanella begins with Niccolò Paganini, whose Violin Concerto No. 2 closed with a whimsical rondo — punctuated by the sound of a small handbell. Years later, Franz Liszt, captivated by Paganini's myth and music, transformed the theme into a glittering piano étude, challenging the limits of what fingers could do.

Liszt didn’t merely transcribe Paganini, he elevated the piece into a legend of its own — adding his harmonies, his fire, and his unmistakable voice.
This arrangement draws inspiration mainly from Liszt, but it keeps Paganini’s eerie playfulness while combining it with Liszt’s bold grandeur into a new voice for full orchestra.

The accompanying video features AI-generated imagery, crafted in the style of Baroque and Neoclassical art. You’ll see spectral portraits of Liszt, a mysterious woman in love, the distant silhouette of Paganini, and the story of two bells — one small, the other vast and cathedral-bound.

The storm rises as the music swells, until the heavens themselves seem to tremble. I hope that these visuals, painterly and dreamlike, will manage to echo the music’s emotional arc: from elegance to chaos, from a quiet toll to a thunderclap.
