Meet artists, Petal & Blosm, contributing artists to the L.A. Graffiti Black Book—a collaborative project capturing the work of Los Angeles graffiti and street artists.
Los Angeles based graffiti artists Petal & Blosm explore Bees, calligraphy, geometry, and abstract letter formations in their work. Petal started writing on walls when she was 13 year old. Self-taught, her arts education took place in city streets, graffiti yards, and along the L.A. River. Her bold and distinct Calli-graffiti style is a fusion of traditional L.A. graffiti and gang writing, combined with Armenian and Arabic calligraphy. Petal uses murals as a vehicle of expression and community empowerment.

The L.A. Graffiti Black Book is now available from Getty Publications, along with works by 150 other Los Angeles-based street and graffiti artists. The project was inspired by a 17th-century manuscript in Getty’s collections named Liber Amicorum (Book of Friends).
