Lisa has always been this haunting yet tragic character within the Resident Evil mythos. She initially didn't exist, not part of the original RE1 back in 1996 nor its directors cuts. She was newly created for the 2002 remake of the first game and was tied to the lore of the mansion itself - the surviving daughter of George and Jessica Trevor, stuck in an eternal search for her mother...while stealing the faces of people she encountered. She was subjected to painful experimentation that mutated her into a terrifying form...yet despite this there may have been some trace of humanity left.

With rumors involving Resident Evil Requiem surfacing and new footage possibly on the way...I heard a familiar scream during a reaction shot. Most of us think it but I'm pretty sure she survived the mansion explosion. I view the encounter with Jill and Barry as the "canon" one...as it involved a bit more story and Wesker's appearance there was just to give Chris someone to interact with. After she jumps down into the Abyss, Barry says that he doesn't believe that thing is really dead...and maybe she truly wasn't. Maybe she survived down there despite the mansion exploding...and later somehow survived the bomb that was dropped on Raccoon City (she may have been in the outskirts at this time).

Umbrella Chronicles did alter some things...Wesker encounters her and traps her in the mansion which explodes with her in it...but who's to say the explosion could even kill her?
