Kyle Abraham was dubbed 'The best and brightest creative talent to emerge in New York City in the age of Obama'' by Out Magazine. ;Kyle performed 2 short works at Homotopia, the first being his critically acclaimed 2006 piece 'Inventing Pookie Jenkins'. Set to the music of Dizzie Rascal, Inventing Pookie Jenkins is a fun and expressive character work that lightly touches on the perception of masculinity and the gender roles therein from a hood perspective". It is a fluid, powerful solo in which the norms of masculinity are questioned through sharp, hip-hop flavoured movements.
