Here's the last 2 hours of KXTV channel 10's analog broadcast on June 12, 2009. They were the last full-power station in Sacramento to stay on the air, all others had gone off the air earlier, KCRA and KVIE had switched to running the "Nightlight" loop for a month which I sadly don't have copies of. This was captured on the hard drive of a Philips DVD recorder from a roof antenna.

Starting off is the tail end of ABC's "Samantha Who?" which had two episodes run in the 9-10 hour that night, with ABC's annoying logo rendering it unwatchable. Recapping the night, KXTV's long-running block of Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy aired from 7-8 (KXTV is the area's only local station that has never used a logo bug onscreen except on the local news, to their credit) with ABC's Surviving Suburbia at 8 and The Goode Family at 8:30, likely the very last animated show ever to air in analog. KXTV of course was a CBS affiliate until 1995.

At 10PM is 20/20, (with an incredibly annoying ROTATING bug) which I included all of here mainly because as it starts, the signal glitches out for a few seconds- afterwards the signal was a bit weaker than usual. I verified this happened in several places, it was not unique to my location. I'm wondering if anybody knows what happened then. During the prime-time hours KXTV squeezed the screen a few times to note that the analog signal would be off the air by midnight- oddly they called their entire station "News10" then even though they weren't 100% news obviously.

After this we have the 11PM news (skip exactly 1 hour into the video to see this), and then a special 30-minute "DTV Transition Special" with newscaster Dale Schornack (starting at 1:36:42) which lets the station go out with a bit of class with a little of the station's history- ironically sponsored by Comcast obviously hoping that everyone would get their cable hooked up to keep getting analog signals, rather than buying a new TV or digital tuner (or largely doing without, which I did for a few months until I finally got my first HDTV.)

KXTV's digital signal was broadcasting on channel 61 then, but moved back to channel 10 after the analog signal went off. Reception has never been very reliable; in 2018 they added a low-power translator station on UHF channel 36 to better reach the downtown area- resulting in their appearing twice on most TVs nearby.
