by Zhu Tianxi, Shaolin monk De Gen's disciple

in this rather short video, Shaolin secular disciple Zhu Tianxi doesn't simply show fight techniques, but he's actually demonstrating various tactics that are coded into Shaolin kung fu forms. a tactic is a logic that enhances the effectiveness and efficiency of a sequence of techniques. every style of Shaolin kung fu teaches a main strategy, which is itself a combination of a few tactics working together. all these strategies combine together to form the strategical system of Shaolin kung fu fighting, which includes 36 tactics. these strategies and tactics have been explained for every style in the video descriptions, and here in this video you could see some manifestations of them in action. the tactics Zhu Tianxi demonstrates are as follows:

- feint to one position, but attack another (1:24),
- use enemy's own move against himself (2:02),
- open enemy's guard with your arms (2:14),
- double successive feints (2:58),
- arms open enemy's guard and legs break him (3:29),
- simultaneous actions of arms and legs (4:02),
- making a bait to trap the enemy (4:31),
- not resisting but following enemy's force (5:21),
- seizing small opportunities to attack (6:30),
- making defense to act as offense (6:40),
- attacking vital points (8:14),
- and doing ground attack while enemy expects a vital attack (8:26),
respectively.
