Kumba was a B&M sitting coaster and the first of its kind by the swiss company. It opened April 21, 1993 and closed August 2, 2026., thrilling riders for 33 years. Kumba redefined the steel roller coaster and set a standard to meet or beat for roller coasters moving forward.
Kumba was also my very first roller coaster. While I was terrified to take my first ride around the time the ride opened, I credit it with kicking off my enthusiasm for roller coasters.
