In this beginner-friendly tutorial, you will learn how to create a custom KUKA Option Package (KOP) for an IO gripper using iiQWorks.App Builder and test it in iiQWorks.Sim. You’ll see how to add a 3D gripper model, configure mandatory KOP settings, install dependencies, and deploy the KOP to a Virtual Robot Controller (VRC). By the end of the video, you will have a fully installed and running gripper KOP that can be used in a virtual commissioning workflow. This process mirrors real-world commissioning, ensuring that what works in simulation will also work on a physical robot.
