Legendary DJ/producer duo Ku De Ta collab with rising starlet Cally Rhodes on this moody House smasher ‘The Way We Were’.
Ku De Ta have risen through the ranks as a force to be reckoned with; the project is the coming together of two life-long DJs who share a mutual passion for all things Dance. The duo have already clocked up a colossal 17 million streams across their releases, including over 9 million streams on their hit track ‘Move Your Body’ with Nikki herself. They have attracted support from some of the biggest names in the business including Oliver Heldens, Don Diablo, Tiësto, Afrojack, Idris Elba and Mistajam to name a few. The boys have already released ‘A Night To Remember’ and ‘Family Affair’ with New State Music, receiving over 2 million streams between them and Radio 1 support.
Cally Rhodes is known for writing catchy, melodic and honest dance-pop music. Her original music has been streamed over 20 million times and her singles have appeared in Spotify Viral Top 50 Charts all over the world. As well as gaining amazing online support, Cally was named ‘Best Introducing Artist of the Year 2018’ by BBC Introducing in Shropshire as well as ‘BBC Introducing Artist of the Week’ nationally. Her tracks have been heavily supported across BBC Radio 1, BBC Radio 2, Kiss FM and Capital radio and have also been featured in UK hit TV programme BBC’s ‘Strictly Come Dancing’. The two team up to drop ‘The Way We Were’ on 25th June. It is a moody, provoking but upbeat House track that journals a relationship that has broken down.
Ku De Ta: "This is our hot new track featuring the amazing Cally Rhodes - a sound born out of lockdown travel restrictions in the UK. We decided to have a go at a remote recording session using a combination of listen to by audiomovers, zoom and about 10 times the time and patience it would take normally. This was our first remote creation and we'll be supporting this at our 4 weekly residencies if the clubs ever open again.
Cally: I wrote this relatable and uptempo song around admitting that a relationship has broken down.
