A small space station with a spinning ring section to simulate gravity. The main body of the craft and the ring have inflatable airlock docking ports to link up the ring and the main craft. That way, the ring can be stopped and merged with the stations body, both to transfer crew and resources and merge the craft so it can be safely left in orbit, without the kraken attacking it.
