Tarot by the Pines 2024-02-02 | Everybody say LOVE! I've decided to "create" a hashtag where we take a look at the eight different types of love that the Ancient Greeks valued. Feel free to join in and participate! The goal is to pick tarot decks from your library that corresponds with the following loves:
1. Eros/romantic love - Eros is the first kind of love, named after the Greek god of fertility, and in real life this translates to romance, passion, desire and attraction.This love is a desire for another person’s physical body.
2. Philia/affectionate love - Philia is the love that develops over a deep, long-lasting friendship. It's platonic, respectful and you care deeply about that friend knowing you can confide in them and trust them to the ends of the earth.
3. Storge/familiar love - Storge is a naturally occurring love rooted in parents and children, as well as best friends. It’s an infinite love built upon acceptance and deep emotional connection.

7. Agape/universal love -Agape is the highest level of love to offer. It’s given without any expectations of receiving anything in return. Offering Agape is a decision to spread love in any circumstances — including destructive situations. Agape is not a physical act, it’s a feeling,
8. Philautia/self love -Philautia is a healthy form of love where you recognize your self-worth and don’t ignore your personal needs. Self-love begins with acknowledging your responsibility for your well-being.

Tarot Murder Mystery: Halloween Edition W/ Trick Or Treat Tarot

Tarot by the Pines 2023-10-24 | I found this activity last year and did a video on it. I had so much fun - I wanted to bring it back by using one of the greatest Halloween decks - Trick or Treat Tarot. Grab a tarot deck and try this activity - I promise you that it's fun! Let me know in the comments who was YOUR victim, killer, and murder weapon.

1. Separate your tarot deck into four sets of court cards, majors (with Death set aside), minors, and a separate pile with the aces.
2. Shuffle and turn over the top Major Arcana to determine who has been killed.
3. Shuffle and turn over the top Ace card to determine the manor of killing (Ace of Cups = poison, Ace of Swords = stabbed, Ace of Wands = Shot or Ace of Pentacles = Hit over the head with a heavy/blunt object)
4. Whatever suit the weapon is from, those four court cards are your suspects. Put them in a lineup for questioning!
5. Turn over a minor arcana for each suspect to see if you can determine a motive. Do this more than once until you are confident in who you suspect is the killer.
6. Shuffle the death card back into the remaining major arcana cards, and turn them over on top of your suspects one by one until the death card comes up. Wherever the death card lands - THAT is the true killer.

Deep Dive Into The Dark Mansion Tarot

Tarot by the Pines 2023-10-16 | A huge thanks to a neighbor for parting ways with her copy of the deck and allowing me to add it to my deck library. This is the regular-sized first edition with the black edging and the night sky as the back of the cards.

This gothic-cute deck features characters with big eyes and little bodies that feels inspired by Tim Burton's work. This beloved deck may seem dark, but it does have a light heart with a whimsical world that reminds me of Corpse Bride.

What a HOOT! Tarot of the Owls: Deck Review

Tarot by the Pines 2023-02-22 | I've always associated the word "Wisdom" with owls, and within this deck, there are four types of wise owls to help you on this journey called LIFE. It is a very accessible deck that is an RWS based deck, making it very easy to read. For those who love owls, this is a no-brainer to have in your deck library.

Tarot Murder Mystery Game ft. Edgar Allan Poe Tarot (Tarot Whodunit)

Tarot by the Pines 2022-10-13 | Are you a fan of murder mysteries? Well, you're going to love this one! Get out one of your tarot decks and let's solve a TAROT MURDER MYSTERY! Let me know in the comments who was YOUR victim, killer, and murder weapon.

Here is how you play: (thanks to Rachele at @AmethystAscensionTarot for the detailed instructions)
1. Separate your tarot deck into four sets of court cards, majors (with Death set aside), minors, and a separate pile with the aces.
2. Shuffle and turn over the top Major Arcana to determine who has been killed.
3. Shuffle and turn over the top Ace card to determine the manor of killing (Ace of Cups = poison, Ace of Swords = stabbed, Ace of Wands = Shot or Ace of Pentacles = Hit over the head with a heavy/blunt object)
4. Whatever suit the weapon is from, those four court cards are your suspects. Put them in a lineup for questioning!
5. Turn over a minor arcana for each suspect to see if you can determine a motive. Do this more than once until you are confident in who you suspect is the killer.
6. Shuffle the death card back into the remaining major arcana cards, and turn them over on top of your suspects one by one until the death card comes up. Wherever the death card lands - THAT is the true killer.
