Promises From Last Year
=======================
How did we do on planned projects:
* Launch StarFox.org
* Real progress on the Krystal Staff prop
* Edit and release 2017 Ayano footage
* Release the Project Kursed Soundtrack and other assets
* Edit and Release the remaining Assault cutscenes
* Automate daily Krystal fanart posting
* Restore lost posts
* Manage the 1000 emails in my inbox
* Prep and launch Miiverse Krystal Art
* Move all cosplay photos from Flickr to my own server
* Update the site design with cute Krystals
So there's that. Not so great, BUT! Some progress was made and some plans are in motion to do some of these more effectively.
Unpublished Progress
====================
In 2019, I managed to read write some new tools and went through all of DeviantArt to find ALL Krystal fanart I could find that was clean. In the end, I downloaded 16.86GB of art and files representing some 17,500 posts, having looked at something like 200 thousand posts. All this to re-create the fanart section. I will have to do this for FurAffinity as well, but that's a much smaller scale. Once that's done, I can start organizing, deduplicating, removing inappropriate posts (or posts that aren't actually Krystal), and preparing the data to be retrievable in the fanart section. I won't be uploading the art, that's illegal. But I will have a hopefully searchable fanart listing that will have more Krystal fanart than you can possibly imagine!
As I mentioned, I'm working on the Staff, albeit slowly. There's a local plastic supply place in town that I've been to before. In the coming days, I'll be visiting them to ask them about certain materials I need. It has to do with lighting the staff.
Over the Christmas break, I began work on the new Krystal Archive design. It will be a statically generated site, which will be much faster and give me more control. Additionally, it will make it easier to make new pages, restore the old pages, and update the website to use much more modern techniques. The existing site was the best I could do for its time, but it hasn't had a major update since around 2012.
Projects for 2020
=================
* Obviously, I want to do everything I listed above.
* I really want to get the pages actually finished. The site has existed kinda as a half-finished mess for a long time due to the hacking event in 2012. It's hard to focus on static pages when most of the posts are news.
* On that note, I want to find ways to get more time to update the site itself, not just the news section, as well as these other long-term projects. To do that, I'm considering doing lots of posts at first for weeks at a time, then take a break from news to work on bigger projects, giving updates as I go. That way you get both.
* I have a lot of stuff I want to do for StarFox.org. I have a ton of content just waiting to be sorted and uploaded. So I want to do that stuff too.
* If I can manage to make a Krystal Staff this year, at least 3 people have expressed interest in buying one. Make no mistake, they would be very expensive. I'm going for serious realism here and that means no shortcuts. But, if I do it, I am looking at producing the staff as a luxury video game prop. Just be aware, the price will probably be well over $500.
* I really want to work on the site redesign. I'm excited about it, which means it'll probably happen first.
* Lastly, a cool collaborative podcast idea: having formal online debates over audio chat about Star Fox and Krystal topics. I have a few ideas for what they would be.

![Fortuna Briefing - Star Fox Assault - English [4K]
General Pepper reviews the situation for the Star Fox team and tells them that the leader of the attack was Oikonny.
This video shows the cutscene as it appeared in the original English versions of the game. During the English translation, Nintendo had to adjust the animations so that the lipsyncing matched the English voice acting. Unfortunately, it appears that most of the facial animations, including the eye blinks, were removed during this process. The characters appear much more unemotional in this version.
Star Fox Assault does not support widescreen. So, instead this video was uploaded at higher than 4K resolution (3840 x 2948 to be precise). Textures and characters look stretched if the video is formatted to widescreen. Fortuna Briefing - Star Fox Assault - English [4K]](https://i.ytimg.com/vi/Km8jSblkxP8/mqdefault.jpg)

![Honeymoon - Star Fox Assault - Japanese [4K]
With the planet Sauria saved once again, Fox and Krystal enjoy the company of an old friend, Tricky.
Check the Original Resolution version of this video to see the subtitles.
The original prerendered cutscene frames were upscaled to 4K resolution using ImageMagick, ffmpeg, and Waifu2x-caffe. Honeymoon - Star Fox Assault - Japanese [4K]](https://i.ytimg.com/vi/MycTmzUAJJE/mqdefault.jpg)
![Launch All Ships - Star Fox Assault - English [Original Resolution]
The Star Fox team launches their ships into the fight above Fortuna.
This is the near-native resolution built from the original prerendered cutscene frames. YouTube over-compresses it, but its still a better image than a capture image. Launch All Ships - Star Fox Assault - English [Original Resolution]](https://i.ytimg.com/vi/N0nr39fscOY/mqdefault.jpg)
![Cries Of Agony - Star Fox Assault - English [Original Resolution]
General Pepper and the Star Fox team make plans to use the Core Memory to find the Aparoid Homeworld. However, Krystal senses a distress call from Sauria, hearing cries of agony.
