On October 17th, 2019, I grabbed my Super 8 film camera and made my way to the old KRON4 TV network headquarters located at 1001 Van Ness Avenue in San Francisco, California. The 4-story building was built in 1967 and served as KRON’s headquarters until 2014 where it remained vacant ever since. With the building actively being demolished, I wanted to film some archive footage on Super 8 which I thought might look aesthetically cool.
As of December 2019, the building is completely demolished. I love taking street photographs but I am equally motivated to document our lives. As San Francisco continues to grow and reshape itself, I want to actively honor its past as we step into its future.
My Super 8 camera does not have audio recording capability and was added by myself in post. The film used was Kodak Vision3 50D Color Negative Film and the camera was a Canon Auto Zoom 814.
