This drum cover took me almost two years to finish!
Everyone knows Meshuggah for their crushing riffs and complex grooves, but their early records have always been my favorites. "Destroy Erase Improve" is a masterpiece, and opening the album with Future Breed Machine feels like getting hit by a truck and a tornado at the same time.
This is one of my favorite songs of all time. The floating tempo, relentless riffs, insane drum parts, aggressive vocals, and what might be the heaviest breakdown ever written creates a level of controlled chaos that's unlike anything else.
...And yes, it took me almost two years to finally record a version that felt worthy of this iconic song. Somehow, there was always a part that didn't sound quite right or lacked the right attitude. So I waited until it finally felt right.
It's still not perfect, and some parts are a bit different from the original, but this is my best attempt. I hope you can appreciate the effort that goes into keeping drum covers as authentic as possible.
