1992 was the year when Kraftwerk took part in an environmental activist music event for the first time. It was about putting a sign against the nuclear site Sellafield and the Stop Sellafield event took place in Manchester. Originally, Kraftwerk wanted to play at Expo '92, but they cancelled the concert in favour to Stop Sellafield 1992 which was on the same date. Before they played at that event, they did 2 warm-up gigs. One in Norwich and one in Leicester.
The first noticeable change is that they shuffled the songs around in the setlist. The Robots and Robotronik got shortend and combined into a single song and were on the top of the setlist. It continues like normally, but they skip to The Model after Computer World and to Music Non Stop after Trans Europe Express. Afterwards, they play Home Computer, Computer Love and last, but not least, Pocket Calculator. They also shortened many songs, especially Radioactivity, Autobahn and Music Non Stop. The formation of the live studio changed too. It's not in a V-shape, but in a straight shape. They did all these changes to surprise the audience. The audience thought that they would play new material or some of their old, rare songs, but it never happened. It was rumoured that Kraftwerk would play a 3-hour long marathon setlist, but not even that happened. They only did some variations to the setlist and the song arrangements.
Kraftwerk planned a new album during that time, but it wasn't a studio album. It was a live album. They had the Akai DD1000 digital recorder on the studio rack which was a sign that they planned to do a live album which didn't happen until 2005 with Minimum-Maximum. Kraftwerk's live recordings from these 3 concerts never got released, but parts of Radioactivity from Manchester '92 can be heard in the overdubbed version of Radioactivity from No Nukes 2012.
Tour De France got a pad during the lyrical parts like in the original version, and Radioactivity and Trans Europe Express started with vocoded vocals which changed in Leicester. Autobahn got rid of the Robovox solo, but it's not the only bad thing in this song. The synth got messed up!
After that song, the audience starts to communicate with the band. Someone asked Ralf for spare tickets for the Stop Sellafield concert. He replied that he would take the backdoor. After Trans Europe Express, someone else shouted out their songs from the Krautrock era. Ralf simply answered that he knows every of his band's song. Then they suddenly played Music Non Stop with the acid bass in the very beginning. It sounded almost like a jumpscare. Ralf didn't anything after his solo. They continued playing until they reached Pocket Calculator. This concert was played in an university venue, so Ralf asked the audience if the university has music courses. He then let some of the audience press on his mini keyboard and told them that everybody can play electronic music. At the end, there were no goodbyes. It's very important to memorize that because will happen again in the '97/'98 concerts.

Kraftwerk didn't do many concerts in 1992, so good recordings of them are rare. This one probably comes from a mid-gen tape. The frequency range is slightly low, but the details are still there. I fixed the speed and adjusted the snare frequencies because they were oversaturated, especially on Blank Frank's remaster, I increased the bass, but only slightly, so that it would not take away space, and I put a little reverb on it to make the acoustics sound more natural.

Special thanks to Blank Frank! He gave me the inspiration to do remasters of Kraftwerk concerts. His remaster of Norwich doesn't as good as his other KW remasters, so I thought doing my own remaster. I even asked him for permission. He has no problem with that and showed astonishment when it comes to my dedication to the remasters.
