Following the two concerts performed since the beginning of this mini-tour, the Kraftwerkers followed the Bologna and the Padova concerts with a performance in Grassina, near Florence. The venue was a small theatre that used to be an old cinema. The venue in question is the Sicurcaiv. At the time, the Sicurcaiv was a venue for popular rock bands from all around Europe. This is still the case today.

Some fans managed to meet Karl and Fritz before the concert, and they were kind enough to chat with them and sign autographs. Florian was at the bar, while Ralf’s whereabouts were unknown, also some German fans attended this concert, whether they were friends of the band members or just randomly at the gig I don’t know. Apparently, they were cheering too much during the concert and some people who were sitting next to these people started complaining. They were just ecstatic.

Somebody was trying to videotape the concert, but was caught during “Home Computer”, a bit like in the Bologna show. Security was strict during the 1990 shows. Seems like people just got away with audio recordings, they were maybe able to hide the devices well.

The intro with the plucks in “Computer Love” was removed, there was a lot of impro with the arpeggios and there was some organ impro by Ralf. The Grassina rendition of this song is known for its calm and warm atmosphere, with this instance being one of the last times Kraftwerk sounded warm and affecting. The bass was also very quiet because of the acoustics.

Another highlight was “Autobahn”, where the Votrax solo part at the end had become quite long at this point in the tour, as well as another highlight; the Ralf-Karl interaction/interplay during the impro/car FX part. Also, the end of “Autobahn” sounded a bit like the original 1974 version.

“Pocket Calculator” followed, a rather good rendition. Ralf was being photographed by someone sitting in the front row and Florian was triggering some 1981 samples, which made Ralf laugh while singing.

“The Robots” had the usual long effects parts and the 1981 dummies. There was a little too much repetition of the melody generally throughout the song, in my opinion. But this song in 1990 was arranged in an interesting way. The Bartos influence in 1990 was still perceivable, at points it actually sounded like they were trying to make new music once again.

The concert ends without any sort of farewell from Ralf to the audience, but after the concert, because of the environment of the venue, fans had apparently no difficulty in trying to approach the band members. Moreover, the band was generous enough to let a small group of fans try some of the gear used during the concert, apparently not just the samplers used on “Pocket Calculator” …

Some of the attendees remember this concert fondly, because the band members and the roadies were very kind and generous to all the fans who attended the concert. This is proof that Kraftwerk’s members are humans at the end of the day, not just robots/dummies etc…

Special thanks to EW Music for the concert description (He's an expert on the 1990 Italian mini-tour!) and to Wayback Machine for retrieving this recording.
On the Heute Abend bootleg, there's an excerpt of an recording of this concert including Numbers, Computer World and Autobahn which has higher quality than the high-gen tape uploaded on YouTube. Last year, someone uploaded a low-gen tape which sounds the same like the excerpt from Heute Abend, but it got set to private later. Luckily, I was able to retrieve it through Wayback Machine. The frequency range is high, but the sound is flat and the high frequencies are rough. I put an EQ on the kick drums and on the mid-frequencies and I adjusted the high frequencies, so that they don't sound screechy. I was able to reduce the distortions as well which are present especially in Computer World.
