Koufonisia is a part of Small Cylades islands. It lies southeast of Naxos and west of Amorgos. The charming port town Agios Georgios is a traditional settlement built in amphitheatric fashion around the port of Iraklia and where most of the tourist businesses are located, rooms to let, restaurants and two or three bars. Koufonisia has only recently been discovered by tourists so the island remains virtually unspoiled. The beaches in Koufonisia are not organized and provide great chances for total privacy.
